i accidentally watched a ryan murphy show and i was enjoying it quite a bit that i didn’t stop. THEN i (also accidentally) read a spoiler which made me go WTF OF COURSE THIS GUY CANNOT CREATE DRAMA WITHOUT IMPREGNATING SOMEONE and i’ve decided i will not invest further time into this show
one time when i was 17 i watched an episode of doctor who (tennant years) that made me so inconsolable that i went upstairs to my mom and i sobbed like, “please don’t make fun of me, i’m so upset about a fake person from a tv show right now i can’t stop crying.” she let me sit in her lap and tell her all about the episode and i stopped crying and said i felt so stupid and she started laughing and she said, “i once cried this hard in college over a star trek episode. want to hear about it?” i said yes and then while she told me about the episode she got upset all over again 30 years later and she started crying and then i started laughing about it so hard i started crying again

honestly kudos to Elementary for gender swapping John Watson in what we all thought was an attempt to make johnlock palatable to the masses and then proceeding to not only make them entirely platonic but also become the ONLY modern adaptation where i actually feel like them being platonic makes complete sense
Every time someone mentions H.G. Wells I have to readjust to his pronouns because I accidentally internalised the canon of a 00s Syfy show where he’s secretly a woman.
He doesn’t come up often enough that it stops happening, and I fear one day I’ll need to discuss him and slip up. I’ll pull my classic did you know move but it’ll be “facts” from a long dead TV show about cursed objects.
